The expertise your RFID system needs, from planning through production.

FactorySense supports new programs and existing deployments through our in-house consulting practice. Whether you need focused project advisory work or complete system delivery, we help your team define the opportunity, design the physical and digital system, implement it, and keep it working as operating needs evolve.

  • Strategy and evaluation: Data strategy, use-case development, feasibility, ROI analysis and deployment planning.

  • Engineering and implementation: Integration design, RF and physical system design, hardware selection, installation and commissioning.

  • Support and improvement: Maintenance, troubleshooting, training, redesign and expansion of existing systems.

Scope of delivery

RFID services across the program

Start with what you need to track, which decisions need better information and how your existing systems work. We scope the services around those needs, whether you want help with one part of the program or complete RFID implementation.

Consulting and requirements

Define the assets, decisions, workflows, and business outcomes that justify the program. Evaluate RFID feasibility, technology options, integration needs, and a practical pilot strategy before committing to a broader rollout.

Site assessment and RF engineering

Test tags on real assets, assess facility conditions, and design useful read zones. Validate candidate reader and antenna configurations against material flows, environmental constraints, and the events the application must recognize.

Hardware and physical deployment

Select and configure the tags, readers, antennas, and mounting approach for the application. Coordinate installation requirements, network and power dependencies, and field testing so equipment choices serve the workflow.

RFID software and event logic

FactorySense.io turns RFID reads into asset status, movement history, exceptions and operator actions. We define the filtering and process rules that make a read useful, then connect accepted events to the systems that own your records.

Enterprise integration

Connect validated events with ERP, MES, WMS, and other operating systems. Establish data ownership, interfaces, identifiers, and exception handling so the deployment fits the systems your team already relies on.

Commissioning, training, and support

Validate the agreed operating scenarios, prepare users and system owners, and document the handoff. Support can include health checks, troubleshooting, firmware maintenance, and adjustments as assets, layouts, or workflows change.

Planning a new program

Use RFID consulting to clarify feasibility, requirements, ROI assumptions, and the route to a pilot. Add a site assessment when field conditions need to be tested.

Preparing the field design

Use an RFID site assessment to evaluate tags, read zones, and installation constraints before finalizing the physical deployment.

Physical capture to enterprise workflow

RFID tracking systems that integrate into your ERP and other platforms.

An RFID read becomes useful when it leads to the right action. We work with your operations and IT teams to decide which movements count as valid events, what FactorySense.io should do with them and which updates belong in your ERP, MES or WMS.

Rebuilding confidence in work-in-progress data.

Honeywell Aerospace asked FactorySense to recover an unreliable active RFID deployment. We redesigned tag selection, read points, event logic and integration around passive RFID. This removed tag-battery maintenance and restored confidence in WIP data. The same infrastructure later expanded to carts and tooling.

RFID services questions

The right delivery model depends on what you already have, what needs to change, and who will own the system.

What is included in RFID implementation services?
+

A complete implementation can include requirements, site assessment, RF design, hardware selection, software configuration, enterprise integration, installation, commissioning, and training. The engagement defines which services are included, what your team provides, and how the system will be accepted.

Can we engage FactorySense for only part of a program?
+

Yes. A focused engagement may address consulting, a site survey, software, integration, or an underperforming deployment. We review the surrounding system so the scope addresses the cause of the problem and makes responsibilities at each handoff clear.

Can you improve an existing RFID deployment?
+

Yes. We assess the capture design, tag selection, application rules, interfaces, and operating workflow. The recommendation may involve configuration changes, redesign, or replacement of specific elements, based on evidence from the existing system.

Can RFID connect to our ERP, MES, or WMS?
+

Integration requirements are evaluated during planning. We define the records, events, interfaces, and data ownership the workflow needs, then confirm the capabilities and access available in your systems. The implementation approach depends on those requirements.

Do you support the system after deployment?
+

Support and maintenance can be included in the engagement. Scope may cover troubleshooting, system health, firmware updates, user training, and changes to assets or workflows. Support responsibilities and service terms are agreed for the specific deployment.

Can you support retailer RFID requirements?
+

Retail compliance work can be part of a defined engagement. We review the applicable customer requirements, item tagging, verification, and operational process before recommending a solution. Requirements are confirmed for the specific retailer and program.
